- We respond to emergency 9-1-1 calls that are medical in nature 24 hours a day, 365 days
a year
- We provide on scene emergency medical coverage for community events such as parades, school events, and other township sponsored events
- We provide education about EMS to our community
- We work with the Washington Township Police Department and our 3 fire companies to provide for the emergency needs of the township
- We operate the Jaws of Life and other light/heavy rescue equipment
- We actively participate in training classes and exercise to continuously update our medical knowledge
| We provide basic life support medical care and ambulance transportation to the area hospitals.
Our scope of practice includes: |
- Oxygen delivery
- Artificial respiration with the use
of adjunct airways
- Epi-pen administration
- CPR
- Automated defibrillation
- Splinting

- Patient stabilization
- Assisting patients with certain types
of medicines
- Bleeding control
- Child birth
- Patient assessment and vitals
- Lifting and moving patients

What we don’t do is charge for our services. Ever! |
| If you received a bill related to a 9-1-1 emergency call that you made, it was probably from the paramedic services provided by one of our local hospitals, or for air medical services. The Long Valley First Aid squad has never charged for its services. |
